Two Cirrus dogs (and owners!) were proud to be invited to this inaugural AKC Championship event. The event was by invitation based upon scores from the previous year. I went with Miss Georgie and Nita of AZ was invited with Zane. We had simple expectations of driving up and participating - and eating good food. Since I've been super busy with work, training classes, and school I was a slacker and didn't really work too hard on Georgie's prep since she's pretty reliable in general no matter what I'm showing her in. I hadn't seen Nita since she picked up Zane as a puppy, so we were looking forward to fun, food, and frantic turnaround driving! There were FIVE rings of rally and we both competed in Novice. The Excellent course looked like so much fun though! We both drove up, spent the night, showed, then drove right back home! Nita's drive was twice as long as my 7.5 hour one so I'm especially grateful for her coming :) See the pictures HERE ![]() Georgie and I managed a respectable showing with only 11 and 12 faults on some really fun courses. ![]() Now for the BIG news! Nita and Zane rocked the place; earning two 100 (perfect) rounds and won their way into 2nd place overall Novice Rally dog! There were almost 90 dogs entered and it was a lot of driving, but they looked great and earned lots of loot! Congrats! I'm so glad I got to see them there and so proud they did so well.
