For the most part, we're taking the year off from shows, showing, show training in order to relax. I've been working full time, doing the family thing, doing the horse thing, and doing the dog thing for the past 2 years and I really wanted a chance to veg and remember why I do these things.
Once of the shows we did hit was this weekend and while I got bored and was a bit whiny, it was nice to see everyone and let me dogs do what they do. I packed up the dogs I enjoyed (and whomever wasn't in heat!) and Pierce and I spent the say in Austin. Cole showed like he was on the green carpet at Westminster and I let him. It was so fun and over the top! He got straight up dumped in show one, moved up a place in show two, then was pulled for winners in the third show. Georgie was a great girl (like normal) and while she was dead last inexplicably in each class, I got some killer obedience training in while we were getting dumped. I felt a bit conflicted about this weekend and its taken me until today (mid October) to process things, but it was fun and I'm grateful for the support of the Aussie people. I guess its a sign of me growing up or something, but I feel more focused now but oddly at peace and ready to enjoy this hobby as it should be, not a race for titles and points. Wish me luck!
