Ever since I was a child, I wanted a German Shepherd Dog. In 1999, my first performance and working dog was a GSD and at that time I never felt like I could do this wonderful breed justice without a lifetime of research. Everything that followed was my attempt at avoiding "messing up" the GSD by finding solace in other breeds I could be more objective about. My first GSD, Isis, was my companion, my working partner, my performance dog but I made the decision early to not breed her so we could focus on performance and working. I always had people approach me about a puppy from her since it's so rare to find a GSD these days that can work hard, be a loving companion, and have the structure to do an agility course or herd. During my years of working with Isis, I maintained contact with a breeder with import dogs and followed her progress and kept in touch with her. I was on her wait list for 2 years before Isis died because I was determined to not get this puppy "as a replacement." When Isis passed, the breeder gently asked me if I was ready and I finally agreed. Eos was the puppy I picked out from parents that had "the" lines I wanted most and this puppy has shown me how amazing the "German" GSD world is. She's happy, gorgeous, tireless worker, and loves to try whatever I want with her. Eos is steadfast with everyone she meets and just a wonderful animal.
I began the search for a possible stud probably a decade before she was born and with the realization that my GSD "puppy" was turning 4 in 2018 (and some well meaning nudging by clients and trainers around me), we made the arrangements to breed Eos this year. I chose Peik because he is an older dog with lots of achievements and many progeny in Europe and the US that are amazing animals. His health is excellent even at his age and I feel his conformation and temperament compliment what we are trying to preserve and nudge in a certain direction. His lines loosely mirror some of Eos' (primarily the herding Show Lines) as herding is our main interest moving forward and the HGH lines we like (Kirschental) are getting more difficult to obtain due to that kennel owner's death in the past years.
We expect excellent solid World Class dogs that will work, herd, play, and love in accordance to how GSDs are supposed to be. I'm probably most nervous about this litter as GSDs are my "soul" breed and Eos means a lot to me as she has gone above and beyond what my expectations were after Isis. My husband also grew up with GSDs so it's a big deal for us personally as a family. Nothing can capture your heart and your eye like an amazing GSD. If you want to join us on our amazing GSD adventures, please contact Beth. Priority to performance, working, and herding homes then companion homes. All puppies will be sold on a limited AKC registration (must be spayed/neutered).
